Mobile RV Repair Questions, Answered

Everything Phoenix RVers ask us most — how mobile service works, what it costs, and the desert-specific advice that keeps a rig running in the Arizona heat.

Mobile Service & How It Works

With a traditional RV shop you tow or drive your rig in, drop it off, and often wait days or weeks for a bay — a real problem if the RV is also where you're living. Mobile service reverses that: a certified tech comes to your site with the tools and parts to diagnose and repair on the spot. You skip the tow, skip the wait, and never move a rig with a broken slide or dead AC in 110-degree heat.
Almost anywhere the rig is legally parked and we can safely work: your home or driveway, an RV resort or campground site, a storage lot, a dealership overflow lot, or the roadside after a breakdown. Some gated communities and parks require you to arrange access for us in advance.
Our mobile service call starts around $125–$175 depending on your location in the Valley. It covers travel and initial diagnostic time, and it's credited toward the repair when you approve the work. You'll always get a repair quote before we begin.
Standard same-day and next-day appointments are billed at our normal rate when the schedule allows. True after-hours emergencies — no cooling in extreme heat, active water intrusion — may carry a priority fee, which we disclose up front before dispatching.
You approve a written estimate before we start. Payment is collected when the repair is complete. We accept major cards and other common payment methods, and we provide an itemized invoice for your records or a warranty claim.

AC, Appliances & the Arizona Heat

The most common causes are a failed run capacitor, a seized or weak fan motor, a dirty or blocked coil, low airflow, or a tired compressor. In Arizona heat a marginal unit that coped fine in spring gives up once it's 110 outside. We test the capacitor, motor, amp draw, and temperature split on-site and tell you honestly whether it's a quick fix or time for a new unit.
We work on Dometic, Coleman/Airxcel, Advent, Furrion, and GE rooftop air conditioners; Norcold and Dometic absorption refrigerators; Suburban and Atwood/Dometic water heaters and furnaces; and common microwave, cooktop, and range-hood brands. We carry the most common failure parts for these makes.
If the unit is under about 8 years old and the failure is a capacitor, fan motor, or control board, repair is usually the smart call. If the compressor is failing, the unit is older, or it has never kept up in the heat, a modern high-output replacement often makes more sense — especially for full-timers and snowbirds who run AC hard for months.
Often, yes. We diagnose absorption (propane/electric) and 12V compressor fridges — checking the cooling unit, gas and electric heat sources, control boards, ventilation, and leveling. Some cooling-unit failures require a replacement part we'll source, but many no-cool complaints come down to a fixable board, element, or ventilation issue.

Slide-Outs, Roof & Exterior

It can be. If a slide is stuck out you may not be able to travel, and a slide stuck in blocks living space. We repair Schwintek (in-wall), rack-and-pinion, cable, and hydraulic slide systems — motors, gears, controllers, and manual-override issues — and we can usually get a stuck slide moving the same visit.
Ultraviolet radiation is the enemy of RV roof sealant, and Phoenix gets an enormous UV dose year-round. Self-leveling lap sealant that might last several years up north can crack and pull away here in a year or two. We recommend a 6-month seal inspection and reseal of seams, vents, and fixtures every 1–2 years to stay ahead of leaks before the summer monsoon.
Warning signs include soft spots on the roof, water stains on interior ceilings or walls, a musty smell, bubbling in wallpaper or trim, and cracked or missing sealant around vents and seams. If you see any of these, get it inspected quickly — water damage compounds fast and is far cheaper to prevent than to repair.
Yes. Arizona UV shreds awning fabric faster than almost anywhere, and we replace fabric and worn arms, repair or replace awning motors, and fix manual awnings. We also handle entry steps, doors, compartment latches, and exterior trim while we're on-site.

Electrical, Solar & Plumbing

We do — and Arizona is one of the best places in the country for RV solar. We design and install rooftop panels, charge controllers, inverters, and lithium battery banks sized for how you camp, whether that's topping off at a resort or full boondocking off-grid in the desert.
Yes. Flickering lights, dead outlets, a converter that won't charge, or a battery that keeps dying are exactly what we chase down. We test the converter/charger, inverter, battery bank, shore-power connection, and 12V distribution to find the root cause rather than just swapping parts.
Absolutely. We replace water pumps, repair leaking PEX lines and fittings, fix or replace toilets, service water heaters, and diagnose fresh, gray, and black tank problems including stuck sensors and valves. Most plumbing repairs are handled in a single visit.
For many Arizona RVers, yes — lithium (LiFePO4) batteries give you far more usable capacity, faster charging, and much longer life than lead-acid, and they handle our heat well when installed correctly. We'll tell you whether an upgrade fits your setup and charging system before recommending it.

Scheduling, Warranty & Trust

From roughly November through March the Valley fills with winter visitors and our schedule tightens, especially for AC and roof work ahead of the season. We still hold slots for emergencies, but for non-urgent service and pre-season inspections we recommend booking a week or two ahead during those months.
Yes, as a service. We document the failed component with photos, provide the diagnosis and estimate your administrator requires, and coordinate the claim on your behalf. Approval and coverage decisions are made by your warranty company, but we make the paperwork side as painless as possible.
Our techs are trained and certified RV service professionals experienced across all classes and the major appliance, chassis, and house-system brands. We stand behind our workmanship and explain every repair in plain language.
Yes. Many of our clients live in their rigs full-time or spend the winter here, and we offer scheduled seasonal maintenance — roof and seal inspections, AC service, and full pre-trip checks — so problems are caught before they strand you or end a trip.
Have the RV accessible and, if it's in a gated park or storage lot, arrange our access ahead of time. Know the make and model of the affected component if you can, and describe the symptoms — when it started, any noises, and what you've already tried. It helps us bring the right parts on the first visit.
